An editable template for PE Subject Leaders
This editable template is designed to help guide the writing of, or updating of a primary school’s PE Policy. Designed with prompts, suggestions and ideas it is a great way to start and also to consider some prompts which you may not have thought of or do not appear in your existing policy statement – such as ‘Time Lost’.
A good policy will lead practice and be a useful tool for all. Guiding practice it can help staff ensure a consistency of approach and induction of new staff, visiting staff etc. It sets out your vision for PE (PESSPA) at the school and what is important – Teaching and Learning, Risk Management, Assessment, Pedagogical Approach to Curriculum Design, Time Allocation, Staff Development etc.
No template is the perfect model remember and this very useful document should be edited, consulted upon with staff and tailored to your school needs.
