Spotlight on Learning – sharing practice #1

14 October 2025

We want to help primary teachers, HLTA’s, TA’s, Coaches, Cover Supervisors – in fact anyone teaching physical education to pupils in primary schools to feel more confident and competent to teach the subject!

Through social media and other means we are sharing proven and effective practice that makes a real difference to pupil outcomes, engagement, progression, inclusion, challenge and enjoyment. We believe that this in turn can help more teachers enjoy teaching the subject where they perhaps didn’t before.

In this first ‘Spotlight on Learning’ we showcase two ‘Quick Wins‘ – strategies and approaches to learning that are simple, quick, practical tweaks that can be easily adopted in your practice as well as a slightly longer ‘Spotlight on Learning’. They do not require any prep time, prior planning or resourcing, but rather practice – trying it and refining your approach so that it becomes second nature as you help increase pupil Engagement, Progression, Inclusion and Challenge – making your lessons E.P.I.C!

We encourage you to Follow us on social media to access more of these resources as we release them, additional material, links to practice, professional debate & conversations, ideas, CPD opportunities and online qualifications – all aimed at helping you to plan, deliver and assess high-quality PE in your school, for your pupils. Please Share with people you feel need to see them too through clicking the Share icon on the social media platform.
