The Association for Physical Education (afPE) have launched their essential ‘Safe Practice in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity 2024’ as an online resource.
The 2024 Edition of ‘Safe Practice in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity’ will soon be published, for the first time online, on the Association for Physical Education website at the end of September 2024. It has been fully updated to reflect recent developments in legal practice, national guidance, statute law and case law and is an essential reference and developmental tool for everyone working within Physical Education School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA). It contains extensive information about
what is considered best practice and can provide the basis for a school’s health and safety policy, including risk assessments.
Through being online, it can be regularly updated to provide the most recent health and safety advice for school leaders, teachers, coaches, governors and the wider sector to protect their students and themselves from potential risks in the curriculum and across the wider education offer. The evolution from book to online resource is long overdue and marks a real sea change in how we as practitioners, schools, colleges and settings, can gain the essential knowledge and guidance we need.
I still come across schools who are unaware of this essential guidance and have no access to its guidance and support. Please ensure that you act and purchase the new 2024 edition. ‘Safe Practice in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity 2024’ resource is priced at just £40 for a standalone purchase without membership.
