New! VisionED launch new Certificate for PE for Primary Teachers (QTS)

8 January 2019

Our National Qualification in Physical Education (Level 3) has long been the envy of teachers (QTS) who just want to  access the PE specific CPD without having to produce a detailed portfolio of evidence to gain the national qualification at level 3. After all a degree equates to a level 6 qualification so QTS delegates have already proved their level of academia.

Therefore by popular request we are introducing a new Certificate for Teaching PE for Primary Teachers (QTS).

This new course for 2019 has been introduced due to demand from teachers (QTS) and schools who want their staff to have access to quality assured CPD across all aspects of the PE curriculum to boost their skills, knowledge, confidence and competence to teach high quality PE. This is in direct response to the national key indicator 3 of the PE and sport premium reporting and accountability framework.

Teachers had been attending the Level 3 National Qualifications course to obtain this level of competence and confidence but found producing the portfolio of work on top of their main professional duties, planning and assessment just too much – so we have listened!

This new Teachers Certificate in Teaching High Quality PE for ALL takes everything from our national qualification and more besides but brings it together in a more accessible manner for QTS staff who already hold a degree level qualification. Presented over 7 full day sessions spread across the year:

  1. Gymnastics and floorwork
  2. Gymnastics – progression to apparatus and safety
  3. Dance
  4. Early Years Physical Development and Physical Literacy (optional)
  5.  Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA)
  6.  Games
  7. Athletics

Each session will focus on teaching primary aged pupils across these areas of activities, approaches to learning and development, assessment and progression.

This course is HIGHLY RECOMMEND to deliver a sustainable legacy whilst ensuring that the PE and sport premium makes an impact upon all pupils who are taught by staff who have undertaken this training – facilitating delivery of national key indicator 3 while increasing activity levels (indicator 1) and raising the profile of PE (indicator 2).
